BS4504 RAISED FACE MILD STEEL HOT DIP GALVANIZED FLANGE

BS4504 is the British standard for pipe flanges. Flanges that meet this standard ensure good interchangeability and reliability in different engineering applications. Made of low carbon steel, it has good machinability, weldability and certain strength, meeting the requirements of most general industrial applications. Through the hot-dip galvanizing process, the low carbon steel flange is immersed in molten zinc at about 500°C, so that a layer of zinc is attached to the surface of the flange. This zinc layer can effectively prevent the flange from rusting and corrosion, and extend its service life. It is particularly suitable for outdoor environments, humid conditions or occasions where corrosive media are present.

BS4504 is a British standard for pipe flanges. It specifies requirements for flange dimensions, pressure ratings, materials, manufacturing processes and testing, etc. Flanges complying with this standard ensure good interchangeability and reliability in different engineering applications.
Structural Characteristics
Raised Face Design: The raised face means that the sealing surface of the flange is higher than the other surfaces of the flange. This design enables better fitting between the gasket and the flange sealing surface. When the bolts are tightened, a higher sealing specific pressure can be generated, thereby improving the sealing performance and reducing the possibility of leakage. It is suitable for medium and high pressure pipeline systems with high sealing requirements.
Mild Steel Material: It is made of mild steel, which has good workability, weldability and certain strength, meeting the requirements of most general industrial applications. Meanwhile, its relatively low cost makes this kind of flange cost-effective.
Hot Dip Galvanized Treatment: Through the hot dip galvanizing process, the mild steel flange is immersed in molten zinc at about 500°C, so that a zinc layer is attached to the surface of the flange. This zinc layer can effectively prevent the flange from rusting and corroding, prolonging its service life. It is especially suitable for outdoor environments, humid conditions or in the presence of corrosive media.

HVAC Systems: In the HVAC systems of buildings, it is used to connect air conditioning chilled water, cooling water pipes and hot air pipes, etc. The raised face sealing design can ensure the tightness of the system under different pressure and temperature conditions.
General Industrial Pipelines: In industrial fields such as chemical, petroleum and electric power, it is used to transport some non-corrosive or weakly corrosive media, such as low-pressure steam, compressed air and some chemical raw materials.
