The use and difference of seamless pipe and seamed pipe

The use and difference of seamless pipe and seamed pipe

The use and difference of seamless steel pipes and seamed steel pipes:

1. Different appearance

Seam steel pipes generally have linear weld traces, while large-diameter steel pipes are spiral.

2. Different processing technology

The seamless steel pipe is made of high-quality carbon steel or alloy steel. The processing technology of seamless pipes is divided into two methods: cold drawing and hot rolling, and seam pipes are generally welded.

3. Different acceptance pressures

Seamless steel pipes can accept ultra-high pressure, and the wall thickness will increase accordingly. They are generally used for high-temperature and high-pressure equipment such as high-pressure oil pipes and high-pressure boiler tubes. Seamed steel pipes have lower pressure, and are generally used for low-pressure fluids such as water, gas, and compressed air.

4. Different uses

Seamless steel pipes are mainly used as pipelines or structural parts for conveying fluids, mainly in the machinery industry, and seamed steel pipes are mainly used in the construction industry, such as water, gas, compressed air and other low-pressure fluids. However, seamless steel pipes are used for all pressure pipelines.
