ASTM/EN/JIS Carbon steel pipe common material

PDF HLAKOLA

There are many international materials for carbon steel pipes. Here are some common ones:

ASTM standard materials

A53 Gr.A, Gr.B: A53 is a commonly used steel pipe standard in the United States. Gr.A is ordinary carbon steel with good processing and welding properties. It is often used for general low-pressure fluid transportation, such as water supply and drainage pipes; Gr.B has a slightly higher strength than Gr.A and can be used in occasions with slightly higher strength requirements, such as general industrial pipes.
A106 Gr.A, Gr.B, Gr.C: A106 standard steel pipes are suitable for high temperature and high pressure working environments. Gr.A is low carbon steel with good toughness and impact resistance; Gr.B has good comprehensive performance and is widely used. It can be used for high temperature and high pressure pipelines in the petroleum, chemical and other industries; Gr.C has the highest strength and can be used in more severe working conditions.

EN standard materials

S235JR, S275JR, S355JR: S235JR is similar to Q235 material, has good welding performance and certain strength, and is often used in steel pipe manufacturing in the fields of building structure, machinery manufacturing, etc.; S275JR has higher strength than S235JR, and can be used for general structural parts and pipelines with higher strength requirements; S355JR has higher strength and better toughness, and is suitable for structures and pipelines with large loads, such as bridges, pressure vessels, etc.
P195GH, P235GH, P265GH: These materials belong to carbon steels used in high temperature and high pressure environments in European standards. P195GH has good high temperature oxidation resistance and certain strength, and is suitable for high pressure pipelines with relatively low temperatures; P235GH and P265GH have increasing strength and high temperature resistance, and can be used for pipeline systems with higher temperatures and pressures, such as high temperature and high pressure steam pipelines in the power, chemical and other industries.

JIS standard materials

STKM11A, STKM12A, STKM13A: Carbon steel pipe materials for mechanical structures in JIS standards. STKM11A has a low carbon content, good toughness and processing performance, and is often used to manufacture mechanical structural parts and pipelines that bear small loads; STKM12A and STKM13A have gradually increased carbon content and correspondingly increased strength, and can be used to manufacture mechanical parts and pipelines that bear large loads.
STPG370, STPG410: Carbon steel materials for pressure pipelines in JIS standards. STPG370 has good comprehensive performance and can meet the use requirements of general pressure pipelines. It is often used in pipelines such as petroleum, chemical, and water transportation; STPG410 has higher strength than STPG370 and can be used in pressure pipeline systems with higher strength requirements.
